Since 1998, the Standards Council of Canada publish and update this document that establish the requirements for public-use playground equipment and playspaces intended for use by children aged 18 months to 12 years. Canadian provinces Ministers of Family requests daycare owner to ensure the conformity of their playspaces to this standard.

Impact Attenuation of Surfacing Materials Within the Use Zone of Playground Equipment.
This standard establishes minimum performance requirements of the amortizing surface under playground equipment and is a part of the CSA Z614 certification procedure.
