EXAMPLES OF APPLICATIONS OF THE BALL TRAJECTORY RISK ASSESSMENT
Sports clubs( Football, Cricket, Golf, Other sports)
Risk assessment and a recommended mitigation strategy to minimize potential risks of ball landing adjacent properties.
Property developers
Propose to nearby sports clubs a mitigation strategy to increase protection to the proposed property.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION – FOOTBALL PITCHES
Labosport have drawn on their expertise to define 10 different in game scenarios where the ball may be kicked on a trajectory that surpasses the site boundary. Distance to boundary (risk distance) for each scenario is calculated.
Kick angle
Max kick velocity
25° to 40°
Dependent on level of play and kick scenario (e.g. professional or recreational)
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION – CRICKET FIELDS
The shortest distance (risk distance) between the edges of the two sides of a pitch and the location of mitigation or boundary are calculated
Shot angle
Shot velocity
20° to 50°
20 to 50 ms-1 / 45 to 112 mph

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION – GOLF FIELDS
Shot angle
Shot velocity
10° to 30°
34 to 90 ms-1 / 75 to 200 mph
Labosport’s ball trajectory model calculates the flight path of the ball for each shot/kick angle and shot/kick velocity. The trajectory model is used to determine the site-specific required height of mitigation required to stop the ball.
We offer this service for all sports that has a playing ball capable of surpassing boundaries and damaging adjacent properties or people e.g : Football, Cricket, Golf, Baseball, Tennis etc
