Roller Infill Tester – Infill Durability Testing System
The Roller Infill Tester is designed to evaluate the durability of synthetic turf infill materials under mechanical stress.
It reproduces ageing mechanisms observed during field use, allowing detailed analysis of how materials evolve over time.
This system is specifically developed to support testing in line with EN 15330-5 requirements, which place increasing emphasis on infill stability and environmental impact.
This device supports manufacturers, laboratories, and R&D teams in developing compliant materials, validating performance, and conducting internal testing programs.
Testing infill behaviour under repeated stress
Infill materials are exposed to continuous mechanical interaction from player movements, leading to changes in particle size, surface condition, and material integrity.
The Roller Infill Tester makes it possible to simulate these effects in a controlled environment, helping to identify:
- Particle degradation
- Colour variation
- Dust generation
- Changes in material consistency
These parameters are key to understanding long-term performance and potential environmental dispersion.

Key Features
Designed for EN 15330-5 testing
Supports durability assessment according to Annex E
Adapted to all infill types
Mineral, organic, polymeric, or hybrid materials
Controlled ageing process
Adjustable number of cycles and load conditions
Consistent comparative analysis
Enables before and after evaluation of material properties

How it works
The system uses ten hexagonal wheels fitted with football studs, rotating around their axes to apply repeated abrasion to the infill sample.
After a defined number of cycles, the material is analysed and compared to its initial state. This allows precise evaluation of physical changes such as particle size distribution, colour, and dust content.
