Playground inspections for childcare centres
Renew your compliance certificate in line with CSA Z614.
In Canada, childcare services are required to ensure that outdoor play areas and playground equipment meet CSA Z614 requirements.
These playground inspections support the issuance or renewal of your compliance certificate. Our experts verify that installations meet applicable safety requirements.

Compliance certificates for public parks and schools
We issue CSA Z614 compliance certificates for municipal and school playgrounds.
Each inspection includes checks on fall heights, safety clearances, the condition of impact attenuating surfacing, and playground structures (see the schoolyard planning guide).

Laboratory testing of materials and equipment (ASTM F2075, CSA Z614)
Our accredited laboratory performs compliance testing on your materials and equipment.
Our tests, aligned with ASTM F2075 and CSA Z614, cover in particular:
- Wood fibre used as impact attenuating surfacing;
- Poured in place rubber surfacing;
- Play sand and other surfacing materials;
- Playground equipment, prior to installation.
These tests help confirm the performance and safety of components and materials before they are installed on site.
Accessibility testing
We also conduct accessibility testing in line with ASTM F1951, to assess ease of movement on playground surfaces for wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility.
This supports inclusive and accessible recreational spaces for all children, in line with international best practice.
