What is Gmax testing?
Gmax testing for sports surfaces is measuring the impact attenuation (ability of surfaces to absorb shocks due to impact) of surfaces, both Artificial turfs (Synthetic turfs) and Natural turfs. Gmax is the ratio of the maximum acceleration during an impact to the Acceleration due to gravity. If the Gmax ratio is higher for a surface, it means that the ability of the surface to absorb shocks are poorer.
